Agassi to play World Team Tennis this summer

NEW YORK (AP) -Andre Agassi will pick up a racket again, playing two matches for the Philadelphia Freedoms in World Team Tennis this summer.

The league announced Thursday that Agassi will compete for the Freedoms on July 10 in Philadelphia and July 17 in Newport Beach, California.

Agassi, who retired in 2006 with eight career Grand Slam titles, played for World Team Tennis from 2002-04. Other stars who will make appearances in the mixed league include Serena and Venus Williams, John McEnroe, Anna Kournikova and Martina Navratilova.


The league, co-founded by Billie Jean King, will play in 10 cities from July 2-26.
