Djokovic advances to Key Biscayne quarterfinals

KEY BISCAYNE, Florida (AP) -Novak Djokovic reached the quarterfinals of the Sony Ericsson Open, a tournament he won two years ago, by beating Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-2 Tuesday.

Berdych was broken five times and lost 15 of 24 points on his second serve.

It was the first match in the men's round of 16, with the 11 top-seeded players still in contention. Djokovic, seeded third, bounced back from a quarterfinal loss to Andy Roddick at Indian Wells 10 days ago. The Serb called that match one of the worst of his career.

Roddick, top-ranked Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer had matches scheduled later in the day.
